There are certain qualifications one must meet to be eligible to act as a Missouri Bail Bondman and before applying for a Bail Bonds license in the State of Missouri. Applicants must comply with the qualifications established by Supreme Court Rule 33.17 including the following: - Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be a United States citizen.
- Have earned a high school diploma or GED certificate.
- Have been licensed as a bail bond agent for a minimum of two years immediately prior to submitting the general bail bond application.
- Devote at least 50% of his/her working time to the bail bond business in MO.
- Have not been convicted of any felony under the laws of any state or of the United States.
- Not be a judge, attorney, court official, law enforcement officer, or a state, county, or municipal employee who is either elected or appointed.
Criminal conviction? Having a criminal record does not automatically disqualify fr you from obtaining a Missouri Bail Bonds license. On the Missouri Bail Bond application for a license, there are specific instructions about the information to provide about your criminal record for any prior convictions. You Must: - Disclose all criminal history whether or not sentence was actually imposed.
- Describe the circumstances surrounding your arrest, the charges, and the conviction.
- Provide a certified copy of the Indictment or Information and the Judgment and Sentencing documents that show the disposition of each criminal charge.
- Submit completed information with your application.
